A Google search on air boards showed they need considerably more CFM than my compressor produces. Looks like a hand powered longboard sander will be the final fairing tool to use. Mixed with some blood, sweat and tears.

Don't give up hope yet. While most require about 9 CFM, Harbor Freight's cheapy longboard only needs 5 CFM...might this work for you?

Thanks for the idea, Brad. Specs for my Makita 2400 compressor show it puts out between 4.2 CFM at 90 PSI and 4.8 CFM at 40 PSI. Looks like it's a little short of capacity even for the HF longboard. Don't want to hijack Steve Wolvertons thread. Finish fairing is off a ways for me. I'll ask more sanding and longboard questions, in a new thread, then.

I dug out my cables and hooked up my vinyl cutter tonight. I've cut the first stripe.

Steve, where did you get your cutter?? Ebay?? I was considering the 2-3' or so ones on there just to have one of my own but don't know how well they work and if the software is any good.

I bought from USCutter. http://www.uscutter.com/

I got the 24" and I love this machine. I've made car window stickers, t-shirts, door stickers, etc.

The software I have came with the machine and it's easy to use. I'm cutting a Puffin logo sticker tonight.

I also used it to cut all the sticker on my boat.

Any excuse to post my boat pictures. ;) I like black/red/white color schemes.

If I have the same problem I'll probably do the same. You sure you weren't getting beat by shills??? Had that problem with some fiddles once till I turned them in!

The boat looks cool!

I don't know - it's possible. Their asking price is fair IMHO. I looked around for a month before pulling the trigger. Great support from those guys too! He actually called me to see if I had any questions or if he could help with anything.

They sell a few brands too.

Thanks for the props on the boat. I love that little thing. It was junk when I started.

Nice to know somebody supports their products, not too common any more.

I remember the boat when you got it. Came a long way.

Sorry for the highjack! ;)

Steve,

I also have a small volume compressor. I've thought about borrowing a second compressor from a friend and hook them together using a "manifold". I'm thinking a pipe "T" with the air from each compressor coming in on each side of the "T" and the outlet on the downward leg.

A combining "T" like that would be super cheap and allow you to use a higher flow tool without having to spring the big bucks for a high flow compressor. Of course you have to have a friend with a compressor.

I picked up the insert roof edge trim tonight and insert. When I got home I see a package on the doorstep from Redtrailers! Woohoo - hubcaps!

I open the package and hop into the garage to slap them on. Errrrr. Wha?

Image
Uh. Wha? How does a hubcap that measures 10" at the clips mount to a 12" wheel that measures 13"?

Image
It looks cool mounted on the backside! DOH! :(

That's a bummer. It would have added so much to the looks of the camper. I did remember to stay clothed while taking those photos - you're welcome. ;)

Yes, thank you!

That is a bummer about the caps. I would have figured the clips would mount into the holes on the wagon wheel. Hope you can get it straightened out...as always, looking forward to seeing your progress.

hub caps and wheel covers are kinda my thing ( along with sprayed on bedliners) ... If I can help let me know. you need to bump up to a 14" wheel then we can put on a cool pair on smooth disks.. very retro.

Can you say where you bought your roof edge trim and insert?
