How done do you have to be to travel/camp? seriously....

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

Todah, please feel free to introduce it to new folks...I have no idea where or when it originated...I have used it for years along with "tarpage" (which refers to the total amount of tarps carried) and it is fairly common 'round here :D

Thanks for the opinions everybody !!!! I have made up my mind , depending on a couple of things... One being the weather for next weekend for the Bernice Park campout.... Looks dry !!!

I'm a bit sore from putting the first ceiling peice last night, will do MUCH more this weekend, and have as much help as possible.
I plan on one of us putting Bondo on screw holes, the other attaching the roof first layer, then second layer. Someone else attaching the alum door trim. ... hahaha Nothing like a factory !!!

Also, is you take ibuprophen befor strenuous work it helps keep soreness and swelling down. I learned that from doing yard work.

Well, it's still sitting still.... Got the interior skin on, the light in, the two layers of roof insulation on, and the first layer of roof is on !! and tight! looks good....

Pics are still on the camera, the home computer is dead.
Now there's a 30-40% chance of isolated storms so I guesst the Jewel Box will be isolated at home....

Julie,
You got an amazing amount done in a weekend. All is not lost. The weather channel is always wrong. I would give it till at least Thursday before I give up. Mine can't be done cause I can't find a hinge and didnt' have the forsight to order.

Looking forward to your pictures. ;)

Epoxy enuf to travel?

Postby kayakrguy » Mon Sep 11, 2006 7:05 pm

Hi folks,

Question: If you have everything done--roof/hatch/doors but only have time to epoxy sealer on everything can you take the T into the weather?

This is hypothetical, of course <g>

Did it with no damage. As long as the water isn't standing on the wood you're OK.

Then if I had the hitch on my car, and can get bondo and sanding sealer and a coat of primer in the next few nights, then I'd be bringing it to Grand Lake!!! but I really don't think it'll happen without some magic (or taking off work tomorrow.....) :?

hahaha

Julie
I have been away camping with Ralphie for the last week and only this morning got to read this thread.

This is like a mini docu drama. Lots of tension, moments of humour, will she, won't she. Wow I am loving the real life story of a woman from Oklahoma that overcomes lifes ups and downs and prevails against all odds.

A lot of folks are cheering for you :applause: . Myself included. Whether you make it for this weekend or not is probably not real important in the long run but the drama right now is real exiting. Thanks for the fun and give it your best.

Regards, JG

Well, here's the end of the thread.

Good thing that I didn't just tarp it. The winds Friday and Saturday were constant and very very windy !

Then about 5:30 a.m. the storm moved in! and the wind was still around.
It poured down from then till I got home in OKC around noon..... glad I didn't take the Jewel Box.

The building continues....

End of this thread

8) Dear Julie,

You have to be totally finished to use one????

How about ending the thread by beginning a new one.....

How many Teardrop Gatherings/Camp outs have you attended without having your TD built?? Even though you already have the plans made up, templates created, etc.
it still hasn't made it out of the garage, shop, backyard, or wherever it is sitting.

Cuz I'm a sure shoe in to top this one....I've slept in a SST since the summer of 2004, and slept in borrowed TD's, but never one of my own, yet!

TDN :R
