Mike,

I was thinking about a welded frame (5x9) and reworked your drawing (I used Photoshop, so it's not quite right). Anyway, do you think that I would need to box the front or second crossmember (or both) to add for the welds? Or would the angle be enough. I was also thinking that maybe the crossmembers should be cut in for the square tubing of the tongue, like Bufordt suggested.

Oh for a welded frame I would keep it really simple, like this...

Mike,

Is that 2x2x3/16 square tubing?

Kerry,

That 2x2x1/8" tubing. Only the tongue has 2x2x3/16" tubing. I have some drawings laying around somewhere. I'll see if I can find them.

I'm home now... ah on Teardrop time at last!!! :o

I did wander out and take a look at the bolts holding on my axle. There are (2) 5/8" bolts on each side...

Here's what one looks like...

Now lets see if I can find those trailer plans... in a teardrop minute hopefully!

Interesting to see the word 'China' clearly cast into the trailing arm of that (Flexiride?) axle...

Actually that's a Dexter axle with the words China cast into it... I'll have to ask Steve if China is cast into the flexiride axle...

But it's as clear as the photo I shared with you above...

When the Chinese imports replace the Fords, GMs and Chryslers in this country the transformation will be complete. We will have been assimilated!

Mike...

welded trailer plans... sorry for the excessive bandwidth...

Ah, after a long teardrop moment, Chell managed to find the information...

With this message you have enough information to build your own custom trailer for a teardrop...

It makes the whole thread pretty wide and I have to scroll back and forth. I just downloaded them and use my software to scale them.

Did the original order you made include the 13" wheels and tires or did you trade them in on the ones that you used??

I actually didn't order the kit. I only ordered the axle and misc parts as shown on my bill.

I got the wheels from Low cost trailer supply, who had them dropshipped from Red neck trailer supply.

And the trailer was fabricated locally based on those 3 drawings...

Mike,

Guess I did not read everything very closely. There is a redneck place about 45 minutes from me and I probably could get most everything that I need from them and have the frame done in one of the shops around here.

Thanks again

Thank's for all the information,

I got the small part made with steell 2X2X3/16 angle so i can start this week-end, i wasn't able to fit the 8 feet inside the car so it will be next week for those one, tried to find place in canada for tortion axles..... 3-5 weeks delays and the can give confirmation that i will get it in time.So for now i will stay with a ordinary suspention until next tear drop :). Next car will be bigger so il will need a bigger tear drop with more option in it
