I made my door from the cut-out but used a little different method.
My teardrop has plywood "framing." In the framing I routed a 1/4 slot for the door opening with a 1/4" straight router bit and a bushing using a template. I left several "stops" (red marked areas) that did not get routed to keep the door located in the opening.
My interior wall finish is oak engineered flooring - plywood type, not laminate type. It was applied with PL glue and staples to the framing.
I then flipped the wall assembly over and used a jig saw to cut out the door.
I kept the jig saw cut centered in the 1/4" opening. The edges were cleaned up with a router and a template/pattern bit.
