Most applications of Thompson's water seal are not top coated with paint. By their literature, you can paint over Thompson's-treated wood but only after 30 days and only with oil-based paint. That would be limiting to a lot of folks.

Hard to say. As afreegreek has mentioned time and time again, CPES isn't cheap.

I got a 2 Qt kit for about $60 - that was enough for a couple coats on my plywood skins (front curve, hatch, and narrow roof sections). As discussed in this thread, I didn't use it on my sides walls though, since they are MDO plywood. And I also didn't have a full roof to do.

I'd think that you'd need at least two of the 2qt kits to do an entire "traditional" teardrop.

Del690,
It is my understanding that CPES is not sold in Canada; nor do they ship to there. There are other available epoxy products that can be purchased and used in Canada that can be used for your build. Please check with your stores or building friends nearby.

CPES is sold in Canada by BCS inc. It sounds like a very interesting product that I had no knowledge of up until recently. Thanks for all the help guys.

Thanks, Del! The next time a Canadian asks where to get it, we'll know! :)
