Kinda like that - that looks a little too fancy. Cool though.

Nope, not building the awning with those. I'm building a small shower room on the port side of the camper. The shower room folds down when not in use, and those little snap clamp things will keep it from banging the side of the camper while in tow.

I am going to build an awning too.

One of the first mods I decided to do was to convert my bed to a murphy bed. This is going to make converting from day/night mode much more convenient.


I had to remove the side stiffener and make it wider to accompany the width of the bed. That meant I had to shorten the counter top from 22" to 20", and I had to bring the storage area under the counter back 2" so I could mount the bed supports. The plywood pulled apart where I had to rip the board, fortunately the epoxy held on the outside, so now all I have to do is fill in the tears with epoxy on the inside. Neat stuff.


I had some leftover hinge from the door, so I used it on the first folding bed section. The first section measures 40". I'll hinge the second piece to the first. The bungie is temporary of course until I figure how to latch it.


This picture shows the bed stowed in the raised position. I'll have to come up with some cover for the bottom. I may just place some foam wrapped in vinyl under there. Someone mentioned it would be a nifty place for some tools. Small shovels, hammers, etc. I wouldn't be able to go to it with the bed down, but it's an idea.

Steve, I really hate to mention it, but, if you need a shovel when the bed is down its only because your in some deep uhhh... trouble (yea thats it) with your camping buddy. Not a good place to be. lol

Now that I'm keeping the camper I get to start tricking it out for me.

Does anyone know where I could find some some type of catch that would hold a 1/2" piece of conduit? I'm not sure what it's called, but the pipe would be pressed into the catch, and held by friction.

If you wanted to store tools underneath you could access them when the bed was down through holes in the top plank (which would be facing the door in the down position).
