Wow! 28 lap joints done with a hand saw, in one day, wow!

Thats 56 ends to shape, 2 saw cuts per piece, total of 112 saw cuts + cleanup with a chisel.

You're a master!!

WOW!!!

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

GPW.

To get that much done so quickly...is good!

Looks like we were counting laps differently than you, but you still did a great job for just using a hand saw

Thanks to Rob and M/Jack for setting me straight on the pic posting thing .... I'll try it soon ....
Well, it wasn't Fun in a way , my old hands still ache and I'm still nursing the blisters and splinters ... Hand tools are evil things created by our ancestors ...Still shagged out !!! What I wouldn't have given for a radial arm saw with a dado blade...
Have to get some steel today , to finish trailer ..., then we can join all these sub assemblies .... Since I have less than 90 days , I may seem to be jumping around a bit , but trying to better conserve my time ...

Rocker plans available .... Ben-Rock ??? But you probably don't need them ... :)

Plans are where you look at everybody else's stuff and then start drawing...for our BUGOUT plans , we looked at what everybody else was doing (and spending , Oy!) and then one day , the clouds parted , and the light shone on the humble , but mighty Teardrop trailer...It was the most LOGICAL thing we could come up with ...

Bought the little porta potty at the Wally World , for her worship .... she ain't gonna' get a tub ...not yet anyway ...hahahahahahaha windows on the way from E-Bay (?) I wanted to get some from the TD guys , but their's was too small (nothing personal !!!)
Still scrounging for materials... things coming together ...Now if I was 20 years younger , I could lift all this heavy stuff .... URGH !!!!!

He's a lean, mean, building MACHINE!

It's totally okay to get real excited now.

But in a few months, when you get just as excited because Gorilla Glue is on sale for 50 cents off and you finally located green lug nuts, THEN it's time to call the psychiatrist.
Here we go again!

Yes, it's becoming quite an addiction !!! I can't pass a trailer of any sort on the street without giving it a once over. Windows of all sort are becoming the stuff of dreams. I've watched RV Crazy more times than Harry Potter. My sketchbook is becoming filled with all sorts of TD ideas. Possibly the worse thing is , since I've visualized/drawn almost every aspect of the BIG BUGOUT, now I can't wait to build the second one ... after all , I do have two trailers....
Really !!! This stuff is so COOL !!!!! I wish I had found out years ago about this .... but then , I didn't have the NEED !!!!!!
Getting down to the 2 month period.... got the steel cut today with a portable metal bandsaw... boy, does that baby CUT !!!!! one more step finished... windows/roof vent on the way ....

And I must admit , without all this help ,I'd be nowhere.... Many Thanks to all...!!!!!!!! :applause:

Found a can of Legos , made a bunch of TD's (what else),

Spent yesterday cutting all the unnecessary stuff off my boat trailer, and coping the crossmembers to fit ... used a borrowed Porter Cable Porta Band for the cutting , much better than the chop saw thingie' ... ready for welding ... I gotta' get one of these porta bands , really works for building TD's and chopper bicycles...Image

I got mine from him also, some nice 23x25 sliders. The screws go thru the mounting ring and in to the lip on the inside of the window. I was thinking of milling a oak ring instead shouldn't be hard and look alot better. That's what I'm doing for the trim ring on my fan. I found some oak counter edge that will work nicely.

Not to hijack the thread, but I got my windows from him also. Mine are crank out. He has some nice windows at reasonable prices.
