Lookin good. I like the cushions. What did you use for cushion? Foam?
I'm still trying to decide what we are going to use for bedding.
I'm leaning towards a fouton mattress (priced at Big Lots the other day)
this would let us fold it in half when the slide is in.

Yup, I used 5" foam. I picked it up in Jacksonville at a place called Discount City. It was around $70 if I remember correctly. I bought it on the way to the Cedar Hill gathering, and cut it so that it would fit inside the camper that night on the picnic table at the park.

My rain drip caps came in today. I attached them temporarily with a couple of screws, but I'm going to have to run to the store and get some more tomorrow. I like them - I think it adds to the look. They're not really necessary as my windows never leaked. I really like my windows. I got the tinted ones from Grant at Lil Bear. They look like mirrors and people can't tell when I'm inside the camper or not.


I also picked up some more aluminum angle which I'll use to trim the black area with. I'm going to follow the edge of black all the way around the fenders too.

I also picked up some 3/8" rope light tonight. I saw that a few people had added rope lights to the interiors and I liked the effect.

I even squirted the tires with some tire shine. Now that they can be seen, I guess I'm going to have to keep them clean.

You can also see the aluminum table mount at the back of the camper.

They do add a lot to the look. That trailer is looking Store bought, only in a good way. All the silver gives it dimension. looks perfect, don't screw it up now by doing anything else.

Steve thats looking really really sharp... I mean it looked awsome before all the upgrades/updates... but WOW...

Your trailer has been my motivation for my modded widget... Im getting closer and closer to completion (see my album for updates) and was really looking forward to bumping in to you some time at Summerville and seeing your trailer in person, but now Im hesitant since its making mine look to shame... Its really really looking nice..

Can I ask you a few more questions?
Where did you get the drip rails/end caps? Ive looked but had no luck finding them.. Also the Garage door seals that you ran accross the top edge, are they like a spungy rubber? How are they holding up, only ones I can find are a very soft spungy type rubber?

One last question
Any advice on speeding up filling in screw holes and seams? I feel like I have been mixing, filling, sanding, and repeat... for EVER now and still have 2/3rds the trailer left to go... Im using glass bubbles and pecan flour....

BTW, I see that Big fan there in the garage, we need all the help we can get down here right now, I picked the wrong time of the year to be building a trailer. I came inside this past Saturday and the wife accused me of playing in the water hose and denied that it could be sweat.... Probably why I ended up finishing the inside before the outside, A/C was keeping me nice and chilled inside the camper...

They were really cheap too. If you go to http://www.go-rv.com you can put your info in and find the closest dealer to you.

I got the garage door seal at Lowes. Lowes is the only place that has the really firm rubber ones that I've found. Home Depot has the soft ones. It seems to be holding up just fine.

You're doing it right - it's just tedious. It sucks, really sucks. I was so frustrated from sanding I finally just called it good enough and painted it. It gets a little better each time, but I still have quite a few imperfections. It's a 10 foot paintjob - looks great from 10 feet away.

I only use glass bubbles when doing fairing work, I stay away from other fillers as it's really easy to sand. As for the cure time, I'd sand in the morning, epoxy, and sand the next day. I kept repeating until I was happy enough with it to lay down some paint.

It really is horrible here too. You're really flying on your build! How long before you finish your exterior? How are you going to finish it out? Paint, Filon, etc? It's looking great. I hope I get to meet you and see your camper. I like the lines of your camper much more than mine.

As always thanks for the info, wish I had known about that site sooner... What dealer do you go to, seeing as I am just on the north side of Houston? As far as the outside goes, its just getting good old exterior paint (trying to keep the weight down) and possibly some texture, although you mentioned it was hard to keep clean. But at this point (summers here, it keeps getting hotter by the day, and we already have a couple days booked mid July at Summerville, so time is running out, and the sooner I can get some paint on this thing the better). I plan to go with a light grey (to match my wifes jeep liberty, or close to it).. Maybe with a darker color I will not have as much trouble keeping it clean? I can always go back sometime when its not soo HOT and sand it smooth and repaint..

I used PPL because they're on the south side, but I just had them shipped to me.

As for paint, it sounds like it will work just fine for you. That's the great thing about these campers is you can go back and add/change at your pace. I was in such a hurry to go camping with mine that I didn't even have a bed in it when we left.

Is that blue Scion XA yours? I had a gray one.
