Hi Heikki,
Yes I found it on your site. If you could go look at the moldings that would be great.
http://www.duuri.fi/eng/metal_ak_rulip.html
It comes in different sizes. In inches I would think you would want the side something like 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch or maybe 3/4 inch at most. In mm between 13 & 20. Mine should equal appox. 17mm
I see it also comes in 25x20mm. There are places to click on to see pictures.

From what I could tell your rubber moldings had some possibities too.

Happy planning and dreaming

Well another evening of sealing things up on the wood and sanding...
Not much progress but some ...small.. trying to catch all the small cracks
and crevices... right now.. And I picked up some mouldings to try out but dont know as of yet if they will or will not work... running down some ideas...

I do have a couple of photos for you again though ....Where Im testing height for the fenders and the installation plan...

I need some advice as to where they should sit and at what level they should be....

Here is a section of moulding I got ... just to try out an idea I have in my mind... edge moulding that has a gap of 6mm.. the skin of the hatch can slide right into place and it will hold its edges in between..bends nicely as well but yet sturdy...It is an edge moulding for Ceramic Tile Installation.

Image
And a great product for our Northern Temps to seal up cracks and such..at -10 degrees celcius ...tomorrow I,ll cut off the excess with a knife and sand...

Image

At the same time we are going to try this hinge ... before we go with the
hurricane hinge... just to test a technique of different choice 1st..here is a little about this product...

1.6m length. Black finish. Centaflex is a well designed hinge offering many advantages over conventional continuous hinges currently available. Durable - tested to over 50,000 operating cycles. Secure - interlocking profile when closed. Maintenance free. Aesthetically pleasing-low exterior profile. Concealed fixings. Easy to fit. Weatherproof continuous seal. Corrosion resistant. U.V light stabilised. Excellent flex life. Competitively priced.

If I remember correctly our friend Paul in Australia used the same hinge   Maybe he,ll chime in on its charactersitics and info....

Good evening Kerry... I got that hinge locally here, they have the mechanical hinges plus these .. I had to purchase 3 meters of it at once but ok ...
Ive got enough for a 2nd tear... in the near future...

It cost 70 Euro or 90 USD for the 3 meters of it... They only sell to companies or businesses but I was there before asking if they would sell a section...so I got some last year in the fall..

Paul by the way told me he,ll be installing his this weekend and he,ll send photos of it..

I have a couple of choices though which is nice... somthing different anyways... :)

Originally made in France and there is an agent for them in Canada. Arne asked me about it too and I found a distributor for him.
Cheers
Paul

Just had to write this ....

Neighbors from both sides of the drive way came over in curiosity last night ... with big eyes rolling around ...

:o :o :o They were looking and going around the tear and asking me ...
Now what on earth are you building ? You were going at it last summer and bingo now your at it again....

I said I cant afford a caravan so I had to make me one....
They were shaking there heads with amazement ... Wife and I were just cracking up ...I just replied to them... that wait awhile then come back and see... 8) 8) Soon were going camping... :D :D

They were speechless .... but curiosity was shown for sure...

Comments I got was ... It is cute and Different...

What fun! I'm looking forward to when my teardrop gets to that point where I get a similar reaction.

Goes to show it doesn't matter where you go in the world, some things are the same and people aren't that much different!

Can the fenders be painted by spray cans or home means and what is the outcome? Has anyone done this?

And what procedures to start off with in finding the proper postion of the fenders? And how do I start that in general?
