You sure can. You can make it as wide as the frame rails.

I used 1/2" BCX on the floor, and 1/4" BCX on everything else in the camper. The dropped floor was 3/4" BCX.

BCX is a plywood rating. I don't know what the BCX stands for. BCX is sanded on one side and made using exterior glue.

The sides are braced with the stringer that runs the perimeter of the sides, the doorway, the storage shelves, the bed, etc.

Plywood is rated by letters
A=best no knots
B=ok no knots (filled in by the football shaped plugs
C=footballs,knots,rough
X=exterior glue

So grades are AB, AC, BC, etc. and the glue is for interior or exterior.

Int= no moisture
Ext= moisture
Watch the Chinese plywood they use glue that bugs eat and it delaminates.
Any coating or covering you use only penetrates to the first glue layer so the wood ca still delaminate if you don't soak the edges.
Hope this helps.

Soft Plywood Grades

Softwood Plywood uses two letter characters to designate the grade of the
panel. The face is normally graded using a letter and the back is also
graded using a letter.

A. This veneer is smooth and free of pitch pockets, knots, and open splits.
Repaired splits or wood patches may be permitted.
B. This grade is smooth and free from open defects, but sound knots up to
1" in diameter are evident. Wood repairs or repaired knots or splits are
common in the veneer.
C. Unlimited tight knots up to 11/2" in diameter are characteristic to the
grade. Open knots, splits, wood patches, and repairs are permitted.
D. This grade has no limit to the number of defects or repairs. Knotholes
are permissible to 21/2" in diameter and open splits are common.

It's always difficult to get accurate pictures of my camper lighting at night, but here are a few new shots. I've moved the string lights to the floor after installing the new headliner. It's more like boat courtesy lights now.

:thumbsup:

Image
I was standing outside the camper door for this picture. I haven't installed the switch/outlet for the lights yet - they're just plugged into the outlet I have in my storage area. I also have a piece of trim that's about to go on the ceiling leaning up against the bathroom door. The pile of junk on the seat is my biking gear (camelback, batteries, etc.) I really should learn to cleanup my camper before taking pictures. :lol:

Image
The lights come off the floor and trace the settee area. This keeps the lights off the floor where our feet will be, and it also lights up the floor so we can stare at our shoes while eating. :thinking:

Image
This picture was taken from the settee table looking down at the dropped floor and entrance.

...and you know, the lighted dance floor look wouldn't be all that hard either.

I was playing in photoshop and had to make an animated gif file. A new Emoticon as it were.
