Yeah! A real inconvenience!
Actually, my back's been bothering me. The cold bothers it. Building such a monster doesn't help either!

Stay tuned!! After Rick/Diane's visit in two weeks, we'll be ready to camp!! :ilovecamp:
I have the walls, door, and rear bulkhead ready to varnish..assembly will be easy with a helper, in one day! ( DIY kit anyone??)
The way I work, I build sub-assemblies, finished on the work bench..A lot done behind the scenes! Like a duck on the water..calm on the surface, busy underneath!!Image

Yeah, I think it's the cold because when my back bothers me, it's usually during the Winter. When it is really bad, it will last all thru Spring and into Summer.

Another aggravation...of the back...a change in jobs from the field to management..more sitting/driving! I thought it would have been better for my back? Go figure!!

Dear Steve,

Fun to follow, as always! Thanx for you sharing and generous spirit.

Sitting and driving is terrible for your back, be extra careful how you jump out of the truck, especially in the cold ou are experiencing.
Regards,

Guy

Steve

Ahhh Geeeee - Now you have given us the fever.... The Mrs.. just said that why dont we try to make our own Fenders....

That came from the other half un announced... :o Sooooo since I dont have a pattern of any kind how does one go about getting the proper layout and size ....

We do have extra plywood around and a whole lots of that Blue Styro that looks equivalent to yours....and after stopping in at the local International Boat Show, came upon some epoxy, fiberglass and the entire works...

Since not much can be done outside due to the severe cold were having -I thought to try it..

I thought our International Designer had a drawing of some sort....
Andrew do you?

A bit more progress!
I worked on the bulkhead wall and cabinet doors. I got the idea for a wainscot wall from Danny!
Image
I'll apply some "picture framing" inside the panel frames. I have some molding made from some Mahagony flooring.

Plans are for Rick and Diane to come out this coming weekend for an assembly day!! Can't wait!

(Sorry Finn! No work on the fenders!) They're a real pain..Next time, I'll get Kerry to build them!

Can't wait for Saturday Steve! Do you need us to bring anything? How much snow did you guys get last week? We got at least 2 feet or more  and to top off my week, the waterpump and serpentine belt went on my truck!! I'm home waiting to hear from the dealer, hopefully I'll get it back in a day or two. Oh well, better days are coming!

Confirmed with the Sheerins! It's a go for Saturday!
I have quite a pile of parts stacked/leaning, all around the shop!
During the week I got the bulkhead ready to varnish...

I decided to apply the finish later. (I think I'll open that new HVLP sprayer that's been under the workbench for two years!!) I want to get as much ready to assemble as possible! I need to send Rick and Diane home tired!!

Here's my "trade-mark"end of day shot..the front wall, glued drying!!

I took the day off tomorrow to clean up the shop! After I build the front of the bed!!
