Hit a few garage sales yesterday but, as usual, most people overpriced their junk...
On Friday, though, I had a 15" Lodge cast iron skillet with lid given to me. I was helping a guy clean out his garage and it was in there. It had never been used, never been seasoned.
The little bit of surface rust came off with some oil, some steel wool, and some elbow grease. Then I cleaned it, oiled it, and seasoned it. This is the 'after' picture...after I made breakfast in it:

Among other things, I think it will make a great pizza/cornbread oven for the campfire...
The lid is flat enough that I should be able to load it up with coals, even though it doesn't have the lip that DO lids have for that.
Man, I'm looking forward to the first batch of bannock to come out of it !
