RV Salvage

Hi All,
I went for a scenic drive to Rochester, Washington today to check out Singleton's RV salvage. I found two small windows that open with screens and I hope they will work for my doors. I will need to clean them up a bit. They had a lot of windows with screens. Some had crank-out panels of glass. The place had parts from all sorts of trailers...wheels, tires, doors, cabinets, sinks, screens, bolts, table legs, lights, jacks, rubber strips, axles, leaf springs, etc. etc. etc. Plus, on the way there, I saw a heard of elk in a Christmas tree farm...lots of antlers and coats shining in the sun. It was a fun and (hopefully) productive trip. I'm getting closer to having pictures in my gallery...even if they are just pieces and parts.

Pieces and parts work. Nice to see what other are getting. 8) We love the pictures, we really do.

BTW - I wish I had gotten my window early on so I could plan for openings. 8)

 Singleton's is the candy store for Teardropers . . . . I purchased my sink and roof vent from them and received good service.

Jim,

I've checked the yellow pages and online also. I would love to find an RV Salvage yard here in Texas close to the DFW metroplex. Does anyone know of one? I'm picking up the wood for the floor framing and deck and side walls this weekend... so I guess I am off and running!

Thanks for the 411 on this. *Not sure if this would qualify as a hijack..opps sorry if it is...just thought I would drop the question... feel free to PM me with and info instead of jackin this thread.

KA does this place you went to have a website or ship across country? Not sure how effecient it would be but I would love to virtually browse this place.

Thanks,

Marylou

Hi,
I don't know if they ship. I'd call them and ask. They were really helpful to me when I visited their place.

At Purtis Creek last year, someone mentioned an RV salvage yard in your neck of the woods. I kind of wasn't listening too closely because I already had my windows. I think they said it was near Cedar Hill SP.

RV salvage in SW MO

For those of you in this area, I found a great place for pieces and parts here. It is Colaw's RV Salvage just off of I-44 near Carthage, MO (close to Joplin). They also have a website at colawrvsalvage.com. I haven't been there to peruse their inventory, but I have seen it several times from the highway, and they do, indeed, have literally acres of stuff as well as a huge warehouse.

mlhostetter,
The only one I could find (easily) in the fort worth area is Willies RV salvage. the address is 7782 mansfield hwy Kennedale Texas 76060 and the phone # is 817.478.6846. hours are 8am to 5pm tues thru friday and 8am to 3pm sat. The only problem I had rescently was that most of his stock is dwindling due to the fact his supplier is now focusing on the katrina areas (the supplier is making more money off the government than this small guy).
Hope this helps
Shane

We were in Gulfport, Miss., past Feb... saw huge fields filled with demo'd boats, and more huge fields with wrecked trailers... it would be a salvager's gold mind down there..... a lot would be messed up by water, but not the windows......

Oklahoma City, OK .... there's a place near my OKC 'burb that has a few RV's and delivery type vans that look burned, damaged, wrecked but I don't know what all they have specifically or if they have only mobile home/rv's .... i'll try to check.

A couple of days ago we went to the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Indiana. There are many salvage yards in town. They actually have a multipage list. Let me know if you want a copy.

I'm jealous! I wish there was an RV salvage yard here. For our next project (our first TTT was completed a month ago), we are planning to deconstruct and old ('72) coleman popup and build a bigger and better TTT!
