Galley mock-up... Am I missing anything?

Postby Woodbutcher » Wed Jul 26, 2006 9:06 pm

I just got time to layout the galley. I have been putting this off since it's so important and time consuming. Please feel free to offer suggestions as I may have missed something.
I prefer the cooler in the tow vehicle cause we always take it with us during the day. Thats why its not shown.

The lower right section will be drawers. The lower left section will be doors with the electric/battery and storage behind. The white table folds up and slides into the slot on the right side under the main counter top.lThe main countertop will be Formica boomerang pattern . Next to the Microwave/grill oven will be a sliding door storage cabinet. The countertop above the Micro will be Formica also.

The top center section holds the TV/CD/DVD/Radio combo unit. It will be covered with doors on both sides. The unit swivels for use in the Tear as well as when cooking. The 2 sections on either side of the TV are the interior cabinets. I still have to come up with galley supports. Any ideas with this setup would help.

Here is where the table goes. Thanks for looking!

Looks good, the only suggestion I have is a smaller nuclear food processor!

electrical outlets would be a nice addition to the galley, unless I missed seeing them. Other than that it looks very functional

bein' me, i'd want a sink setup and a GFCI outlet or two in the galley ... um, and maybe some kinda lights either on the sides or the hatch, in case I wanted to work back there without daylight.

but that's just me.

I have not pulled in the electric yet but I will. I wanted to get the basics figured out first. The cast iron will go in the lower drawer. All I need is a fry pan and dutch oven. I do drink Beer by the way but never when I work. I have become so fond of my fingers. If I need a buzz while I work I just lacquer something. It's safer, most that can happen is I just tip over.
Thanks

How about a bread board or something that slides out for additional counter space like this photo. :relaxing: Danny

I put one in ours and it is the feature that my wife likes the most. I think if I got rid of it (it does remove which I did one time to see what she'd say) that she would kill me.

Ditto on that. We use ours for small stuff and we found a small, cheap one ($39) that uses a dial type timer rather than digital because I got tired of resetting the clock everytime the power glitched in a campground in the motorhome. I did mount some "rivnuts" ( like threaded pop rivets) on the bottom so I could bolt it to the shelf. That way I don't have to worry about it sliding out and surprising me when I open the hatch.

Coffee maker? I know I can't live without one. If you go with a smaller microwave it may fit next to it.

Thanks for the suggestions. The pullout and the water jug I did forget. But your killing me on the Microwave. I had posted a nice compact one a few months ago and everyone said it was to small to be any good. Get at least a 1000 watts. So I went and got this one. I have had it to long to return it ,so I will have to go with it.

Ditto on the coffee maker. Looks Like you have everything else. You'll like the converter you got, It will make wireing easy. If you're going to put that battery there I would put a vent in the side.

Evening Woodbutcher!

Looks great!

Just wondering if you could give me the info on the tv/cd/dvd/radio combo? Make model where bought...etc.

Thanks!

Its a Trutech brand. I don't have the model but I got it at Target. It has a 10" screen and works real well.
