Fenders for My teardrop

Postby jwiseman » Mon Jul 31, 2006 12:18 pm

I am finishing up on my 1946 Teardrop rebuild. I want to put fenders on it. It has 15 inch tires and I just want to put basic fenders not spend an arm and a leg. I am working with 1/2 inch ply wood sides and the alumninum. I remember seeing a site where some put some round fastners up then hooked the edge of the fender along the fastners. I do not know what the fastners are called or what type of fenders they were that have enough of an edge to work with the fastners. Anyhow any help would be appreciated. Hoping to go camping in September!!!!! Thanks ~Jillian

Hi Jillian,
I think I saw this information somewhere on this forum but can't remember where I saw it. I know that I at least saw a picture in someone's album with bolts on the sides of their trailer. It must have been in the last couple of months. You could do a fender search and see if you have some luck finding it that way.
I'm also getting to the planning part of adding my fenders and am not sure about whether or not to hook the fenders to the body of the trailer or to the chassis. More decisions.
Good luck on your build.
Kris :)
