Back in September I mentioned using PVC pipe to build a shelter next to my camper. You said you would like to see what it would look like. Well here it is. When I get the tarp on I'll post another pic.

Have a great day :)

Bob, If you made that any bigger, you could store your trailer in it.

Thanks for remembering, Bob!

Do you think there's a way I could do somewthing like this with a ROUNDED profile? Like, are connectors available in various degrees?

Ira, you can normally buy them in 90,45,22.5 degrees. If you have the need for rounded go for a smaller diameter pipe and bend it. You will probably have to have 3 or 4 across the top for stability. You could also help it with t-pieces at the top of the arc with interconnecting pieces to each arc. It would probably only take a day and a half to assemble it.

Cheers
Paul

This is a tough one, because now that I bought my huge EZ-Up, maybe there's a way I can modify THAT to create an extra side room.

I don't have to worry about bears or anything--but I'm gonna want that air conditioning.

Oy, let me finish the damn thing already.

You can custom bend PVC with a torch. The bends I did weren't that severe. Iv'e never tried it but a hard bend may require you to fill the pipe with sand. It may take a couple trys to get it the way you want it though.

Rocky, I have bent PVC for years either with a torch or heat gun...severe bends(even moderate) will kink if not very careful

Used to bend all kind of radii in all sizes of PVC from 1/2" to 6". We heated up the pipe in a giant hot dog machine, it had motorized rollers and a gas flame burner over them. Then, we put caps on the pipe ends, bend them over a form, and then put air pressure inside through one cap to blow the pipe round. Cooled it down with a water hose. Quicky offsets in conduit are pretty easy with a torch, never been too successful making sweeping radii that way.
Spent 10 years 16 days and 1 hour in a plastic pipe plant, a long time ago.

That's ANOTHER good site, but I think it would get real pricey real fast when you add everything up. All PVC would be fine.

I have no interest in trying to bend long lengths of PVC anyway, because I'd like the whole structure to be in small pieces anyway that go together with connectors.
