Crazy from the heat I guess....

It finally occurred to me last night, after hitting 105* Sunday afternoon here in OKC.

I think tonite I'll clear the downstairs bedroom , put down an old sheet and bring in the doors to finish (door handles, window, interior skin on 'em) and maybe even do most of the hatch construction there too.
Heck, there were some people who built theirs indoors while it was blistering snow & ice outside ... why didn't I think of this sooner?!! It's the heat I'm sure.

Now, just need some $$ to finish!!!

$$ woes - I'm stuck working on a spreadsheet to get my "feels like Im doing something Tear related" while I save for "the build".

Heat woes - At least we get the off shore breeze here in P'cola, that keeps it arround, oh lets see...its 87 but feels like 97 per werather.com

It's not the Heat...it's the humidity....

Yeah, thats a good idea, building it inside....hum...I have a "Florida Room" (thats what we call Sun rooms down here in FL...??)

Its big enought to build a Tear...Take out the sliding glass door when Im done... might just leave it there and sleep in it...

I built mine in a closed garage last June/July and it was around 100-120 most days, so I can relate. I could not bring mine in the house, though!! Now I have a garage that is about 20 degrees or more cooler than it is outside, so building the next one won't be as bad.

Your build is looking very nice so far. Keep up the good work and try to stay cool!!

Boy, girl you got a point. A couple of them. I can't take mine inside,cause the house is too small but I would like to. Only 102 here Glue drys real fast.

If I could just remember to buy the lottery ticket.

I feel for y'all that say you don't have room. I do have enough for my two doors though, only about 30" square. Just to bring in to install the door handles , window and skin. But look... here it is 7:45 and I'm on the dadgum forum !!!

You gotsta do what you gotsta do! It has been crazy hot, I had 107 in the garage this weekend, but managing to get something done.

Kept the fan on high, and drinking plenty of water, and taking a lot of breaks to cool down. Makes the build go a bit slower. I might follow your lead and work the door skins on the inside, other than that, I'll be in the garage.

Yeah--that's my excuse. Too hot! That's the ticket--yeah. Too hot for me to work on mine very much. Good reason.

Seriously, I'm gonna be 50 in December, and I DON'T want to have a heart attack or heat stroke before I get to enjoy this thing.

Sorry all, I have to be the luckiest one here. My build has taken place in my sisters air conditioned basement.


I get a little sweaty walking from the car to the house (bout kills me).
I don't see how you all have been able to work in this, I would have suspended construction until January.

As it is it looks like my TD is going to sit in her basement for a while. I would camp in the basement but she won't let me have a fire.

I gave up working on the real hot days.... It's bad enought I have to do construction work all day long... when I get home I sit and enjoy the AC.... guess I will just have to wait for spring to take this buggy out....

hey guys and girls I work in the heat everyday and need some cool air on weekends and I'm turning 50 next month. I can't stand it anymore!!! It's cooler after work. Peg

I did what you did, Earl... last weekend, I did a little then sat in the shade and the breeze.. then worked some , then went inside . Then went back out and cleaned up and said " okay, that's enough for today" .. haha

Peg ... so what do you do for a living ? or rather,I mean a job?

I'm in an office, on the hottest days it seems like it's freezing in here!
