There are two more pics of this shelter in my album.

You were correct, I can park under it. :)

Kens
I had to install my own grommets, the ones on the tarp didn't match up with the frame.

The top tarp is attached to 1/4" bolts at the top of each corner and the top center part of the frame.

The side tarps are also attached to these corner bolts and the front of the side tarp is attached by bungee cords to a I-bolt in the center. I'll use a shower curtain that will open or close for the front.

If you look at the top of the camper near the vent you can see a PVC frame that is 8" higher than the vent cover. This frame keeps the tarp off the vent so I can open the vent.

Good Job

Postby Billy Schutte » Wed Aug 09, 2006 4:23 pm

Good job, I was thinking of doing something like this. I was thinking of useing Cordura or something heavier, than the blue plastic tarps. I think they would be quieter in the wind. You always have to consider the wind in Wyoming.
There are moments when one feels free from one's own identification with human limitations and inadequacies. At such moments one imagines that one stands on some spot of a small planet, gazing in amazement at the cold yet profoundly moving beauty of the eternal, the unfathomable; life and death flow into one, and there is neither evolution nor destiny; only Being. - Albert Einstein

Thanks Jack for the invite. We would like to come but will have to see how the budget is. These gas prices are killing us.

I just tabulated our recipts from the IRG trip. We had 18 fuel stops but I only found 16 recipts. On average, we spent $41 each stop which comes out to $738 for the whole trip. I don't regret it one bit. Try to find the resources to make the trip, I'm shure you won't regret it either. Unfortunately, we won't be able to make this one because we burned up all our vacation time at work.
