...thanks Brick, I was racking my po' ol' abused brain trying to remember the name of the acid in wood bleach...a couple of more thoughts...you will have to do the ENTIRE piece or you will have a bleached out section and not bleached...also OXYCLEAN....I had a very heavily coffee stained maple buther block counter top and I made a paste with oxclean and covered the whole piece with it...let it dry and everyday wet it back down and stirred the paste around after about 3 days the stain was completely gone...using anything, like has been mentioned here, be sure to test test test before using for real since your mileage may vary....
