On my 100th trip(at least it feels that way) to HD I noticed a cool tool for help installing a door knob.

Bill totally loved this tool as it screwed into place, bits were included and it made easy work of cutting the two holes needed.

Check it out:

Only 100 trips to HD? We're well known in the Tool Corral .

It's fun to find cool things like that!

That is one very cool tool. I could have used that on my 1 1/4" doors to keep the 1 1/8" bit centered. (Does it do 1 1/4" doors?)

Mike,
It does 1 1/4 - 1 3/4 inch doors. Then it lets you adjust for either 2 3/8th or 2 3/4" backsets.

And you're so close... I can't believe all these years and I've never popped up to Lakewood from Strongsville. I'll have to swing by one of these days! 8)
