Ithink this might be my last ?(good news)Igot my hatch built (good news)

bad news I've got about 1/2 in. spring back at the bottum not bad at all you can put your knee up aggainest it closes w/ very little pressure ,seals well is this some thig to worry about or just put the latch on and forget it I don't think its going to be a problem but wanted the groups input after that all I got left is prime and paint and some other odds and ends may a saterdays worth of work will post pics soon thanks in advance

Mike, If it takes very little pressure and you're putting a latch on that makes a good seal, I would leave it.


But then I took my tear to its first gathering with 2 screws and a bungie holding my hatch on. So I might not be the best person to take advice from.

Put some draw latches on it and call it a day.

is the teardrop stored indoors when it's not being used? if so, could the hatch be left open with a couple of strap clamps holding it in a More curved position and after time the wood might get the message you were not happy with its performance and assume its intended shape. this might take a couple of seasons, but i've seen temporoary angle iron straighten out a door over time.

I agree with Rocky, pick up a pair of draw latches.
