We've discussed before the elimination of the Roof vent and going to something more practical ... Here's some links to the NASA duct , an very efficient , low drag air scoop .... would make a perfect vent on TD and looks COOL too !!! Check it out for yourself ...

Sorry , Gov site is being uncooperative(typical ) .... here's some commercially available for race cars

Having used "NACA" ducts on race cars they would not be any good on a teardrop owing to the large amount of water they pull in with the air when it is raining.

Ian ... I think the idea was to use them in reverse as a vent ....

This was a different approach to the same old vent thingie'...Something that would be easy to construct (we've made em' for airplanes for years )... Look COOL , and function to ventilate the cabin without the usual pop up vent on the roof (a source of leaks here in La. ) or the old school hole with a screen ... just something different to consider...

The don't draw air in reverse. You might as well leave a window open.

Cool as they would look, they only work when the vehicle (airplane, treardrop, race car, space shuttle) is moving.

Guys , don't get carried away with it's uses in the" real world" ..... I merely proposed this as a better" looking" replacement to the assorted venting techniques already used.... Vent ... to allow oxygen to enter so the occupants don't suffocate ...nothing about forcing or drawing air in .... merely a Hole !!!!! OK!!!

GPW, Don't sweat the others as some only look inside the square  I understand the original usage and your proposed remedy for a problem with our little sealed boxes 8)

Cheers
Paul
