I am planning to build a 5Wx10Lx4H tear or one similar to the Baja Benroy. If I can not get 5x10 ply how should I join the 4x8's together? would a simple butt joint work or do I need to scarf them? Mike if the Baja Ben is 6' wide how did you do the roof? Thanks for all the help, everyone. Sorry for asking so many questions

P.S. Mike don't you have a step by step build of the Baja Benroy? I can not seem to find it for the life of me. :?

Jakob,

The step by step is here...
http://www.mikenchell.com
and then click on the webcam archive

I used ping pong table plywood for the sides of the Baja Benroy... it's 5x10x3/4 and the glue they used is exterior glue... It's nice and flat, but it's as heavy as can be...

Depending on your tow vehicle, you may want to consider 2 sheets of baltic birch plywood... those are 5' x 5' btw... so you'll only have 1 joint...

How did I do the 6' wide roof? easy... I took a 4x8' sheet and cut off 2', and wrapped it around the curve... :D

Mike...

hot dog, that is it thanks mike. That's what I thought you did for the roof so you just butted several sheets of 4x6 them. I do not think I will have a problem with trailer weight my vehicle can tow about 10,000 lbs.
