Trailer balance primer and spreadsheet

I have been working slowly on this for some time and thought I ought to post what I've got, apart from a cute thumb!
Trailer balance page
If you want a simple answer, like 'put your axle here', this doesn't help because there is no single right answer - instead the page (hopefully) helps do two things:
1) help the reader understand the principles of trailer balance;
2) provide a new single trailer balance estimating spreadsheet.
The new spreadsheet allows you to input three extra weights (say, one for the galley contents, one for a tongue box and one spare for luck!) and also has an 'axle' weight - I have been checking some balance results and I reckon that leaving the axle weight out can produce a significant inaccuracy.
Anyone who wants to point out errors, provide better data or (best of all) suggest how I can make this subject more interesting should contact me at:
