Looking at the photo gallery it is hard to see the notch that is cut inside for gally seal. So far I have not cut mine I wanted to make sure 3/8 is the common cut like the generic benroy plans call for. Then when I cut the ribs for the hatch they should be cut the shape of the side before the 3/8 is taken off right. :?

Thanks John

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know cause I didn't.
3/8 is what I cut and forgot to add it back when I did the hatch. Could have been a mess. My perfect  hatch now has two top boards to make up the difference.

Much easier to make you pattern or at least one hatch rib before you cut.

Good luck

Yes 3/8" cutout is a common notch side for 1/2" weather stripping. It allows for some imperfections in your hatch and still maintains a decent seal.

On my Baja Benroy I ended up using 2 pieces of weather stripping, 1 on the hatch and one in the notch, cause the gap ended up being a slight bit larger.

Yes, the ribs should be cut the shape of the side before the notch is cut out.

Thanks guys for the post. :worship: Looking around in the gallery it is hard to see the cut in the pictures. I think now I may go ahead and make my hatch before I make the cut.

Thanks John
