They are usually geared for the high end market. It may not be an ecconomical choice for a tear but it is an option that I may go for in the cabin on my next build. I was thinking of those who are interested in building a woodie tear. The stuff can be purchased in 10' lengths so there would be no break in the sides.It's really not that bad considering what you get for the money. They offer high quality premium veneers. I have used some over the years for high end store fixtures and the effect is stunning.

Danny... Sheesh! Your source is pretty pricy. Of course it is paper/phenolic backed and all. I guess if I'm doing casework for a bank lobby or something I could justify the cost.

I like these guys for most of what I use in furniture:

Brick, this is of course just one of many sources for veneers. I can see this one is better priced, thanks for posting it. I've seen their ads but it wasn't in the magazine I have at hand. I do like the convenience of a paper backed veneer and the phenolic backed may work best for exterior use. I know of one Cabinetmaker that has used plam for some of his tears exterior sides with no problems yet.
Gage, the burls are gorgeous. It's eye candy to me. One could just lay there in bed just soaking up all that beautiful wood.
