How long should it take for the paint to dry? exterior oil base enamel, 2 coats primer, 2 coats simi-gloss, one coat high gloss. Needed more paint to finish second coat of simi-gloss. Guess what I grabbed the wrong can. Any way I gave each coat a full day to dry before re-coat. It has been a week and it is still not dry in places. Why???? I am just sitting around watching paint dry before moving on. Dale G. Smith

There are a lot of reasons for paint not drying: humidity, heat, etc.
I have put on paint that seemed to never dry. I've used Japan dryer in oil base paint, I've used a heat gun.
Check with a good paint store (Sherwin Williams is my favorite). They can be full of tricks for your area.
