Another window ?
Posted: Mon Nov 13, 2006 12:35 pmWhen I gathered parts for tears #1 and #2 I acquired five radius corner windows from an early 80’s Mark III conversion van. Free!! The overall dimensions were 18”wide by 32” tall with a 7” slider on the bottom. I cut these down to 21” tall had plexiglass cut and after reassembly had new screens installed. They made a nice little window.
I am now gathering parts for a third tear but only have one of these windows left. I have found a yard with one of these vans w/six windows. $50 apiece or $180 if I take all. I will buy new before I pay that and spend time and money to modify them.
I also have a pair of 23x25 crank out windows. As I plan on having just one door again I am thinking of using the larger window on the right side.
Any thoughts on this or am I being just too cheap to buy new windows ?
