Ira and others .... Dont ever feel bad about going back redoing things on your build... your definitely not alone  :D ... Well I now have completed the spars for the new and revised Galley Hatch. Now they look more professionally done.. I still need to sand and varnish them ... but its too cold to work outside so the Remodeled Hatch will be built in the house.... and with the wifes approval... :D

PS Do folks here still love photos.

:applause: ho boy. Maybe I should do my cross members like that.

Looks like a lot of extra cutting. :( ;)

You will get it and it will be fantastic.

Very nice work. You sure you're not building an airplane? That ought to make a very firm frame with the notch work.

I prefer the worn out, dirty carpets in my living room over nice persian rugs. I find that ambiance causes any remaining inhibitions to go, and my creativity soars!!!

Im hoping that it will work this time as it is supposed to...I dont have permission to build on the rug though.. and not to build in the living room.

It does look like a part of a wing though dont it...

Top and Bottom part of the Hatch will be oak instead of ply...Im laminating the last rib where the hinge will go with 2 oak strips going across.. should be strong enough...

Classic Finn, your hatch looks like a classic. One question though, do you use the little truck or the little plane to move the hatch about?
