Well I am to the stage where it is time to stand the walls..... I already have them cut and the bulkheads and cabnints laid out. My question is should I stand the walls and build them from the inside or should I build and insulate the walls while there on the ground. I have been seeing it done on here the both ways so I'm not sure which way is better. Also if I build them while there standing how would I get the pattern for the shape of the interior skin??? My plan is on the lower bulkhead use 3/4 plywood and mount an air conditoner in the center. I will also put my elec. in there. As far as that how is everyone doing that part? Do you use all 12volt lights and use the 110 to run an inverter\charger? Sorry it is so long just to an exciting part of my build and don't wanna screw up. thankx a lot. Bill

You're excited... and I certainly understand why... I was excited too when I first put the walls up...



Would I do it that way again? Probably not... it's easier to build it on the bench.

But what I have learned is that "Dryfitting" is the best way yet.

We'll put the walls up with a few screws and no glue. Do some measuring, some planning and take a nap just to be sure.

Then we'll take the walls down and work them on the bench.

Repeat as necessary...

We won't glue the walls up until we are sure there is nothing more that can be done on the bench...

And everytime we build we do more and more on the bench.

Do as much as possible on the bench.
I cut out the walls, framed, insulated, attached inner skin, stained and applied 5-6 coats of poly.....all while the wall was on the bench.
Bulkheads were also done the same way.
Then I attached them to the trailer floor.

I did the same as Mike and Endo.

It's a lot easier to stain/barnish or paint before it goes together. I even put on most of the formica before I assembled the pieces.

I had visions of laying on my back trying to do a good job of putting paint on the smallest foot section, and I used oil based enamel!

Lazy won.

Do all you can on the bench.

I also put the inner skin on and trimmed with a router before installing the walls.

Bench? What bench, I did mine on the floor. Thank God for knee pads!
