using epdm rubber roofing(on most building roofs)good idea?

Hi everybody.About 5 years ago, we started off with a $200.00 8' pop up rockwood camper that came complete with a rotten roof
well, i stripped the aluminum sides, and corner rails from the top, junked the old top. Rebuilt the roof, framed the roof in pine, laid luan plywood on top of pine frame, applied glue, laid the epdm rubber down, smoothed edges, reapplied alum edging re-connected lift mechanism.
worked REALLY well, and physically was correct, except it was black rubber instead of white dimpled aluminum skin
now they use a aluminum skin, originally, dimensions were the same after the rebuild. when rain hit, sounded like a dull drum
Okay.. my point is, has anybody skinned their trailer with this? Got the stuff from roofing contractor. Not the prettiest, but waterproof, seamless, and fast to install. what do you guys think of using this? Sorry for the long write, just wanted to give my experience with epdm.
