Progress 12-03-06

I didn't get alot done this time, more thinking than doing.

I skinned the rear bulkhead frame, using 1/4 inch birch ply.



I put the first piece of headliner skin in, 1/8 inch knotty pine paneling.



I used the pocket hole screws to attach the front edge to the countertop, used the 1 1/4 inch fine thread ones and lots of Titebond glue.



Here is the countertop just set in place. I'm going to stain and finish it before I secure it in place.

Skip very nice knotty pine... plenty of pine available here in Finland too...
wonder what the ceiling would look like on our tear with that... but with mahogany Im not sure....

Good Ideas Skip!! I was wondering how to do the front edge of the counter. Now I know!! Thanks!! Keep the Pics coming so I know how to do my TD.

Is that tongue and grove pine on the interior front wall? Can you buy that off the shelf. or is it something you have to make?

That knotty pine was the best looking 1/8 inch wood that Lowes had. It looks so real! I've been trying to keep the finish color light inside, makes for a larger feeling to me.

And yes Mary, I'll have you know that I didn't drink a drop this week end! See, I can do it!

Love that notty pine. I am glad you posted the counter top so I could see a better way to trim it. What kind of wood are you using for it?

I'm thinking the wood is a cabinet grade birch, 3/4 inch. The front edge is more of that hard oak that was leftover from handrails. Free stuff.

er.... is the knotty pine paneling or individual boards? The 1/8" caught my attention.

EDIT: Duh I'm a Tard!! I just now read your captions on the pictures, and yes it is paneling.
