Hello,
Is it necessary to mitre cut the frame corners?
I have seen some pictures somewhere on the net of a td frame that was made without mitred corners the cross members where welded to the inside of the main rails.

I mitre cut mine on my new trailer http://www.geocities.com/mbusekrus2/trailer.html I think it gives the trailer a more professional look and it keeps little critters from making a home in the frame. Mitre cutting also helps to square the trailer frame a little quicker!

Mine was done by a professional, and it was also mitered. I think for square tubing like this, it's the best way to go...

I don't think you need to worry too much about making the angle cuts for the tubing. A chop saw will cut at 45 just as easily as 90, although you will need an extra clamp on the piece to keep it from creeping into the wheel. Welding the miter is easier, as you don't have to deal with the gaps where the square-cut end of the crosspiece meets the radiused corners of the rail.
