Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Aside from the vintage plans on the top of this forum directory, I was interested in this old publication. It may be fun reading, if anyone has it, and wouldn't mind sharing it. The shape looks like a giant TD ( or canned ham). Perhaps there may be some tips that could be used.

It should read. It's the shape of a small 'Canned Ham' . Doesn't even come close to a teardrop.

Can you read the name of the author? Is it Gartner?

Yeah... I'd like to find that one too... No luck so far.

I own a book: "How to Build Trailers" by John Gartner, copyright 1958.

Gartner devotes 16 pages to building a "Wanderer" a 16 foot trailer.

The book is full of interesting things, but Gartner goes from an 8 foot trailer (he calls a "Wander Pup" as well as a chapter or two on building full size mobile homes.

It's interesting, mostly for the design ideas. We have better axles, tires, plywood, metal etc, besides much higher expectations of craftsmanship!

The book was in a house a daughter bought a couple years ago in Washington state. She bought the whole place, including the former owner's false teeth.

Yes, your right Gage, I had to sneak the post in somehow. This was a recent ebay item, but I missed the auction deadline.

dave, yes the author of the article is John Gartner.

I'll see about sharing the information from the book.

It is not willingness that is the issue, it is knowing how to do it! I don't!

If you would like to entrust the book to me, I will be happy to scan, convert, and provide the finished PDF to Mike to add to the top of the forum. My opinion is that it isn't possible to make a PDF from someone's false teeth and, if you can, it isn't a relevant subject for this forum - teeth are all pointy on top, not teardrop shaped at all.......
