Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I just got my roof vent and it has a metal trim around the top section. After caulking does this just screw down onto the outside of the roof? I'm not sure that I like the aluminum appearance of the mounting flange. Does anyone have installation pictres that shows it in place from the outside?

I don't have any pictures but... I first mounted mine with the supplied foam gasket. I later replaced the gasket with RV putty. The putty stays pliable, no leaks here. It may not be the prettiest thing on your TD but that is the way they are.
