Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hey Guys,

After patiently waiting a few days, I received most of my little goodies that I bought off Ebay for my teardrop/cycle hauler. Check it out and bask in the glow of RV Parts.


Here's the 12 volt lights for the galley area. The on/off switch is built in for simplicity.


Here's the 12 Volt lights for the sleeping compartment. I am going with a white ceiling so white lights were an easy choice. The on/off switch is also built in to these lights.


Here's the 12 volt exterior lights which will serve as porch lights to be installed over each entry door. The small light switches will be mounted inside just to the side of the door to control the porch lights.


To make the trailer street legal, here's the brake/signal lights.


And to power all the little goodies is the Extreme Power Panel which has AC to DC Converter, Battery Charger, all built into one unit. This baby is capable of handling up 55 amp output.

Can't wait to begin wiring up the trailer..still have one more wall to glue and screw to the floor then I can get down to the fun part.

Looks like a lot of wonderful light products.

If bugs are anything in Tennessee like they are in Texas...I would not mount the porchlight directly above my entry door(s). Unless you want your cabin and your mouth full of bugs.

I would mount them to the side and above the entry door. Also I would exchange the clear lens for an amber lens to cut down on the quantity of insects attracted to the light and heat.

Yeah, you have a great point about the bugs. They are awful here in Tennessee in the summer months. We have mosquitos as big as birds. Great advice on the porch lights and I believe I will heed the advice.

Everything looks great, but I particularly love those 12V switches. Wish they made them like that for 120!!! Would have saved me a crap of screw-ups and work.

Ira-Yeah, it would be nice to get a small switch like that for 110V. It's very small and easy to mount. I found them on Ebay for like $12 for all 3 of them. You can really find some nice RV parts on Ebay if you keep your eyes open.

MaryK-No, I am still jealous since you'll be done and camping in your Teardrop long before I even get close to finishing. I have been checking your progress on your photo link and really dig the craftsmanship of your Benroy. I WILL be building a Benroy as soon as I finish my current project. Keep up the great work!!

On the subject of bugs and lights. When I was camping last year with my extended family (about 80 people camping), my propane Coleman lantern attracted the bugs to our dining table in droves. My cousin at the next table over brought his new LED light to his table and not one bug was attracted to it.

Hi Mike,

The power panel is labelled as Xtreme Power but it is actually made by Parallax. The company is changing names or something but it's made by Parallax. Here's a few links I collected while reading up on it when I found it on Ebay. I got a great deal on it and saved 50% by buying it on Ebay. There is a guy on there selling them new in the box. Hope this helps you.
