Nice Indoor/Outdoor Carpet At Lowes.

In a quest to make my teardrop warm and soundproof, I decided to install carpet on the walls and floor. I was looking around at various carpet places for some nice indoor/outdoor carpet and found the perfect stuff at Lowes. I got so excited, I went ahead and bought it a little premature but without further adieu, I introduce my teardrop carpet.

The color is called Gray Slate. It's a suttle color that should hide dirt nicely and it's rubber backed for easy install. Instead of gluing the carpet where it can't be removed, I am using the double-sided carpet tape method for install.

I glued mine with contact cement before I installed the walls. Keeps your butt off a cold wall

...the butt/cold wall deal is something I discoverd first hand this past October...the new build will probably have carpet at least half way up the inside...

After looking at your picts, it fired a lost braincell, and I remembered I have a 12x12 piece of that exact stuff up in our attic space from our old apt. I think I'll drag it down and see if its useable.

Wow..................the posts about cold butts might be something to consider!

I've got some horizontal trim inside and might consider carpeting below it. I'll find out soon enough this spring. Temps here in Ohio tend to stay cool for awhile.

lol...I don't know about the rest of you guys but my wife and I both have big butts so the carpet will come in handy to keep us from getting our butts frozen to the wall. :?

I thought about using contact cement for my carpet install but I keep thinking what if I need to gain access to the bolts in the floor or a light switch. I am just thinking of praticality of installing the carpet where I can remove it if need be.

Sandman...change your user name and password immediatly just incase your wife knows them and reads this thread... if she does, you may not have to worry about carpet as you may be sleeping alone which will give you much more room inside... :MLAS

How about those metal snaps to secure it to the wall? The smooth side would look nice on the inside as a trim detail.
