:( I hate popping bubbles but howrya gonna get it out of a 5' door way if it is 4' wide. You still have fenders and wheels and axels :?

Perhaps you can build all the parts and assemble it outside the shop. :)

That's simple, just turn the trailer on it's side and slide it out the doorway...
;) 8) 8) 8)

The body will be 5' wide, I was going to build it 6' and flush mount the tires.
I would still like to flush mount the tires but I'm not sure how it would look on a 5' wide camper, Thanks, Aaron

 I have a friend that been working on his 24' boat for at least 10 years and the only door he has is a 30" man door. He told me that when he finish it he will just cut one of the walls out to get his boat out. sorry for the hijack.

Hey, Aaron!

The Tourrer/Tourettes (late-'40s-to-early-'50s vintage Aluminum teardrops) were 5'x10' with the wheels inside the body and they look just fine. KampMasters were about 6.5'x12' and had the wheels inside the body, also looked just fine. You've come up with a nice profile, and I don't see any reason your's wouldn't look just fine as well!

If you don't mind, I'd like to suggest you make your entry door a bit wider ... something in the 30-32" range seems the most desireable and functional.

Kevin's right! Build your trailer 6' wide like you originally planned, then turn it on its side to get it through the door.

Good Luck on the build! In the meantime ...

p.s. - Where in NorCal are you?

Hi, I live in FallRiverMills, about an hour east of Redding.
I think I may just go with a 5' wide body, The money saved will allow me to use better quality materials. Thanks! Aaron

By the way, do you know where I can see a pic of the Tourrer/Tourettes ?

I live in Redding, Aaron (have all my life) ... but ya know, I just can't bring myself to call it California anymore ...

I'm pretty sure Nick has got pictures of the Tourette on his site, Nick's Teardrop Pages (can't think of his URL right now), and if you go through almost any of the S.C.T.T. Gathering photos your're bound to find at least one - www.teardroptours.com
Also, Gage has a bunch of Gathering pics on his site that will have some!

If there is anything I can help you with, just give a holler ... or drop by my shop next time you're in Redding! 'Til later, Good Luck on your build ... and in the meantime ...

CHEERS!

Grant
