New fenders on Kit Klone

I just installed some restored Kit fenders on my 2006 Homebuilt. The fenders came from a 1946 Kit and were in such bad shape that I didn't think I would ever be able to use them. I figured that if my restoration efforts did not work I would just toss them anyway. My first time working with fiberglass involved a lot of trial and error (many errors) but they came out pretty good.

I also put on some replica Model A taillights. The prior fenders were diamond plate which I will now post in the For Sale section.

that really looks great Jerome!!!! On my 49 Kit, the kids had used it to climb over a fence regularly prior to my getting it and 1 fender was completely trashed and broken down. I kept them, but didn't restore them...stuck some others on... So what trailer are you bringing to the Dam Gathering?, assuming you are coming. Either one is a honey....  Doug

I am planning to bring the '36 to the dam gathering unless the weather looks really awful.

Jerome... Those sure look great! You did a wonderful restoring them. I have a nice pair from glassice I'm going to install as soon as I get my old Austin-Healy wire wheels refinished.

Very nice looking teardrop. I'm a newbie, but to me the whole package just looks right. What kind of wheels are you using? They look like really good.

Those are 15" wheels from a Jeep with a 5 by 4.5" lug pattern. Picked them up at a swap meet. They are painted with Ace Rust Stop aluminum which looks almost like chrome. The lugnuts are chrome plated. The tires are the old VW beetle size, 5.60/15 which is similar to the skinny tire profile on early Kits.
