I must admit that I have sat down there in the barn laughing my head off at how BIG this trailer is. It is so big that I’ve come up with a new name for it, Longhaul “KING” (as in king sized).
You might remember that I was concerned my wife would be claustrophobic in a standard sized Tear. Well,,,, a couple evenings ago she came in and was visiting after taking care of her horse. To quote her, “its so small in there, how am I going to move around?” I then informed her that most Teardrops built would completely fit into just our cabin area and the goal was to go camping not to spend all the time lounging around in a mobile home.
Dear forum, this is one giant teardrop, I think I’m going to have to start calling it a “Tiny Travel Trailer” even though it follows all the guidelines for the definition of a teardrop. IF you newbies get a chance to see a teardrop BEFORE you start your build, do it. Most of the members on this board are warm and caring and will gladly show off their teardrop trailer to you, YOU JUST HAVE TO ASK!
The first gathering I go to will tell, I might be ejected from the gathering because I’m taking the whole campsite but I’m sure people are going to comment and not believe I built it from scratch.
Anyway, Gage, I’m looking into a window and maybe even creating a closet in the front and eliminating some of the front shelf.

My Dearest Dancing Mary K, Yep, it is one very large trailer, Our beloved Auntie M can stand up in it without problems. I can actually step into it. Mary, don’t you ever get tired of dancing? Gee, I don’t have that much energy!
Doug, good Idea about just hanging the clothes over the window, I am thinking I could put a skylite in the roof.
Steve, Yep, I stayed with the original plan except for a insignificant change in the shape (which also shortened it by over a foot) I’m sure glad I saw yours, and wish I had seen some others. Now I’m wishing I had reduced the height by a foot too. AND then there is Minden??? Yeah right! Maybe in a few years!
Newbies, find a build you enjoy, communicate with the creator and build much lighter than you think, Oh Yeah, DON'T be afraid to post questions or statements! Even if you get teased a little, the info you get back will assist your build a whole bunch!
My Walls, 1/8 ply exterior 1 X 2 studs and 1/8 ply exterior (pink foam insulation) Each wall is soooo strong and light enough to pick up by myself without struggling. Consider how you are going to finish the walls BEFORE you build them, and know the costs, Building just a little oversized gets very expensive; very fast.
