what's the slowest part of construction?

For me it's getting the wiring all figured out. Physical const of the tear itself came to a screeching halt. Endless trips to Lowes for wires, connectors, thingamajigs, etc. Can't do much till you figure out how it'll all work together.

Now it's all planned out and hope to make some progress (and pics) during the long Thanksgiving weekend. Const should proceed a bit quicker now.

That's easy - it's whatever part you happen to be working on at the moment. 8)

It is really a pain to be all set to go or be in the middle of assembly and run out of something. I don't like 'making trips' to the store anyway, but to have to put everything down and go because I'm stalled is annoying and unproductive...

The normal trips (to pick up plywood, etc.) were bad enough (but predictable), but to run out of nails for the power nailer, or some such thing, really felt like wasted time....

My wiring was fairly straight-forward. Or it was till Shirley wanted to sleep with our heads to the back, which required moving the xpower unit..... to the front.

A few things still to be settled.. to get rid of an extention cord.

The time at work when I was thinking about the teardrop and was no where near it, I was building the darn thing in my head.

The slowest part now seems to be the tweeking little things,,after ya are pretty much done its all the little things ya think ya want to add or change,,another light here,,,a shelf there,,,hinge that just does not work like ya want it to,,,piddle piddle piddle,,,

Question??? is there anyone out there that has finished a trailer 100%,,,the best I can do seems to be around 96%,,,

maybe a good reason to take Allan's way out and build a spare,,lol

DO-OVERS....Aaarrrrrggghhhh!!!

The time wasted between when you discovered you screwed up and it's already glued and when you finally decide to redo it even though you have forever tried to figure how what you just screwed up will still work anyway. :?

I hate that! Round trip to my hardware store is 50 mins, not counting the time spent inside. I've spent more transit time getting electrical supplies than building time.

It's the planning stages in any projects that I start. I spend more time planning, drawing, changing and adding etc etc. As soon as I have it planned, things will go very quickly. :D

I'm about to fiberglass my teardrop, and this slowest part to date is the filling/sanding & trying to get everything perfect. The construction was fast, it's the little detail work now that takes so much time.

All this rain isn't helping much either.

It is a bit like a house. Once the frame get enclosed, it has a final shape, but the work is just beginning..

Slowest part for me, on a tight time schedule, was waiting for expoxy primer and paint to get set enough to put on next coat...

Larry is right, I have spent the last year planning my tear and just got a "final" drawing. At least I think that but I am not shure, could add something tomarrow. bye

Boy is that ever so!! I've been working on the twin Lil'Diners, assembling the side panels. It seemed to take a really long time  Now I'm starting the wall framing tommorrow. If I can move. Real nice meal..today...Yum! I seem to use up a lot of time just sitting in the shop, figuring things out.. I guess that's the therapy part of it!! Happy Thanksgiving All!!
