Lightweight Drop

Hey Guys,

Well, I managed to weigh my teardrop today. I first weighed the trailer, and then the camper. I knew it was gonna be light when I was picking the trailer up to stand it on the bathroom scales. :)

Trailer weighed in at 223 lbs.

Camper (with doors, windows, fenders, everything but fabric interior) weighed in at 215 lbs. My custom fenders only weigh 5.5 pounds each.

That's a total of 438 pounds!

We still have to glass it and paint it, and then add the interior cloth (weighed in a 7 pounds) and the electronics. My original goal of 500 pounds is toast, I'm shooting for 475 lbs. now. WooHoo.

I have a few other items to lighten up (my cupboard doors, cupboard bottom, etc.) by drilling holes & fiberglassing, but I'm very excited about the weight.

My fiberglass came in today, so it started raining of course. I'll glass it this Thursday.

Nice work, Steve! 500lbs is mighty impressive. Is that weight with a kitchenette, or is it just a sleeper?

It's an insulated sleep w/storage, but no hatch.
