To insulate or not to insulate

What are the pros and cons of insulating the sides? I live in FL but plan to take my TD out of state, or camp when the weather is cooler here.

Here are the pros and cons of insulating:
Forget about just keeping the TD warm--it also keeps it COOL in the blazing heat of Florida, like a cooler. Plus, it eliminates condensation on the interior cabin walls. And with framing, you now have a place to run your wires, and it's great soundproofing.
Here are the cons of insulating:
A little more work.

I can see Ira is convinced. Tammy whatever works for you. I would at least insulate the top to keep the heat out. I insulation is a great way to add sound proofing to the walls without adding weight too. I did mine to get the weight down. I think I got about 30% lighter but that isn't much if you just want to put it up and go.
Would I do it again....You bettcha.

Hey Tammy,
Id shure put in all the insulation I could if I were you.Sat nite at the new river ol moneybags was complaining bout the cold,It was like 40 or something I think but when we got into the camper it was warm from the days sunshine I guess so we went to bed and I had make the midnite run a couple of times and it was relly cold outside.It was so warm inside that I open the door 2 more times to cool it off in there with just body heat warming it up.Im shure itll help just as much when we run the ac!

Tammy, we build with solid 3/4" ply walls...no insulation...we do have an inch of insulation in the roof and a 6"foam mattress on the floor...I much prefer this build technique, since you are using solid side, you don't haveta worry about preplanning where your cabinets are going....keep in mind that a tear has an interior volume of no more than 100 cuft and heating and cooling are not a big problem...you will have a bigger problem, getting heat out of your camper while using than keeping heat or cold out of it...

We decided to insulate mainly because of living in S. Fl. But we also figured this will probably be the only one I'll build so I better ad those little touches now.
