Oh my goodness - every day I think I am going to get to a particular point, like have the floor glued down, get the vinyl installed, etc and I totally don't get there. I have no idea how to estimate my time on this project. All I know it takes much longer than I thought. Okay, I know, enough with the whining!! Here is where I am at today. The floor is glued, fastened down, and the screw heads are filled. The storage box has the access cut out. Everytime day I look at those fenders I think I am really needed a different pair, something more fitting for a classic looking TD.

You're moving along just fine.

I know how you feel. Just about every one of my conversion steps on my cargo trailer has taken longer than I expected. Several times I've had to leave part way into it to run off to HD/Lowes or other store to get something new or to replace something that is not working as anticipated. A few of my steps lead to other things that I had to do first or something I had to undo to get it right. But things are getting done. Your's will too... just keep plodding along.

Once you get your walls cut and up things will look like that are moving quickly.

Take your time and do it right so that you don't have to do it over.

Hey Little Crit....the thing is...it's basically the old 80/20 rule when building a tear...80% of your progress only takes 20% of your time....but the final 20% of finish work will take 80% of your time....sorry but it's a fact of life...In the mean time...enjoy your accomplishments and don't pay attention to anything I have previously said....do what you can, and build what you want...it's all about having some fun....and making the neighbors jealous...Doug

For people who build multiple TDs, they probably have a better idea of time. I noticed that as well. My husband did and is doing most of the building, but I'm helping. We started building last Fall & we were way behind schedule. We wanted to make it to the Dam Gathering. He is basically retired, though we do have a small part time business, so in theory he can spend more time on it. I cleared his schedule in March & April, so he worked practically everyday on it. That got it to the point we could take it on the road, but it is far from done.
Believe me, I know everything takes a lot of time. But you don't want to rush it either as you want to end up with a trailer you are happy with.
Looks like you are off to a good start.
Plan out everything the best you can because in many ways building a TD is like putting a puzzle together. I tried to do as much of the inside finishing, working flat before putting walls & ceilings up. Seems like it takes longer that way, but not in the long run.

As has already been mentioned check out Kerry,s (toypusher) fenders
as they would look real sharp on your tear..

You are making great progress, dont fret!
I found the fenders on my TSC trailer to be way in the way when I wanted to paint it. I cut them off before I painted.......glad I did.

Kerry has some great fenders wish they were available when I built mine.

I made myself enter dates and time started and stopped in a build diary.
I make notes of what worked and what didn't for future reference. I have looked back in it to get critical measurments and it was well worth the little time it takes.

Your getting there, just take it one day at a time. It really will pick up and slow down at will. If you ever figure out a time schedule please share it.

Looking great! As Gage says; take your time, build it the way you want it the first time out, no race to the finish line (anyway, I think that's what he says ) I spent about 11 months on my build (mostly weekends because of school and work) and to be honest, I'm still putzing with minor changes/improvements.

What's the size on the two storage compartments? (There is two right, divided?) What do you plan to use those for?

Nice to see another Wisconsin TD fan getting involved. Check out my pics, I bought some fenders from Northern Tool. Nothing special but they look really nice...round, rolled sides.
Don't get discouraged about your progress, looks like you are doing fine. Organize your materials and plan what you are going to accomplish every time you work on it. It's pretty easy to get off track if you don't focus.
I'm taking mine to Lake Owen up by Cable this weekend...this will be the first real camping trip! WooHoo!

Hey, Congrats on starting your build!!! I know about the time thing....I am in the last 30% or of mine and it is taking FOREVER!!! But It is still fun...except the interior trim..it was not fun and is not done!!
