I have my floor done and I have 2 1/2 inches of tire clearance from the floor. Do you think that is enough or do I need more? I am building a 5x8 benroy out of 1/2 b-c ply wood. The TS trailer is rated for 1700 plus pounds. HELP!
Thanks! :?

You could always put bump stops on the trailer so that it would not be possible for the springs to compress more than the 2.5".

Not a bad idea Steve.
If it looks like like it wont need any more travel than that I might just give that a try. Any idea where I can find them?

I would not think that you would need more clearance. My HF 1175 rated trailer has about 2 1/2" travel and does not seem to hit except when I hit a deep pothole very hard ONCE! That is the clearance also that was between the top of tire and the stock fenders.

I would make my own. You could always swing by a junkyard for the rubber piece. If you want to sling some cash...

I don't have any on mine and I have 2.25" of clearance from the tire to the plywood floor.

Yes, those are expensive. It's because they're full sets for a truck. You only need a pair of little bump stops. I used these http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku Only $8.69.
