Keeping water out at wheel wells?

I did not have to build wheel wells for say but where my floor and wall meet is right above the center line of the wheel. So that only gives me the half inch of plywood floor to glue and screw to. (Not enough clearance for any thing like a fender.) Should I add a 2x2 support on the inside 3 inches past each fender well ? and seal it with? I was thinking of glassing in the the in side seam. I cant do anything to the out side seam because it already has tar on it :? Give me some ideas !!!!! the walls are going up today!
Thanks!
Jason

Jason, we use a 1/2" ply floor and 3/4" ply walls...we use a piece of 1"x1/16th aluminum angle for a cleat to mount the walls to the floor...this is attached to the side using Gorilla Glue and the appropriate sized screws...we lay a bead of sealer on the edge of the trailer frame before the floor goes on and another along the bottom/inside of the cleat to seal to the floor...works for us...as always.....YMMV

Thanks madjack!

It's not easy some times explaining the dilemma you are in with out pic's. Where my wall and floor meet there is no support under it ( only the wheel well )or inside so just the two 1/2 inch pieces of plywood come together leaving me not much to fasten to. The wall in my tear went up today. I glued them together. But I need to reinforce it. I like the idea of the aluminum angel. I would have to put it on the inside and then glue and screw it with short screws.

Jason, don't know if you looked BUT, if you click the WWW button on my post and look at the "glue and screw" album, you will see pics of the Al angle in use.......

p.s. scuff up the al before applying adhesive to give the al some tooth to help the adhesive stick better.........MJ
