Guys, it may not be often that I can help, so I would like to post a link. I belong to a group of knifemakers. I ain't much good at making knives, but I still like to dabble. A while back, some guys put some different glues and epoxies through a series of tests. It's quite a lot of reading, but very interesting to say the least. One of the epoxies that I thought would hold up didn't. Anyway, I know teardrops are different from knife handles, but you might learn a thing or 2. I hope we are allowed to post links here.

That was a very interesting test - well posted. Bonding to stainless steel is a nightmare - that any of the epoxies held on to it in a strong breeze impresses me. It would be interesting to see the same tests repeated with aluminium, say, to which epoxy bonds well - though of course it would be no use to a knife-maker!

The tester is a bit new at using epoxies if he doesn't know about curing temperatures - that is essential knowledge if you're going to use epoxy to make a high-strength product. Possibly the results would be quite different if they had been properly cured.

One non-surprise is the superglue - that stuff is strong, but it is brittle too.
