What do you use at the scarf joint on the out side to keep the roof from leaking. Epoxy and glass tape or....?

I used epoxy and glass both and a bunch of enamel paint.

PL Urethane to stick it together (and waterproof)
CPES
epoxy filler
Lots of epoxy -- 3 coats
Marine Topside paint from West Marine -- Their brand.

That's it.

Didn't think glass was necessary 'cause, (I think) it's main purpose is to strengthen the joint and that joint is strong enough on it's own.

I think I would agree. I put some fiberglass tape on all my joints and seams that were on top of my tear. If I had it to do again I would have left the fiber glass off the edge joints at least cause it does not sand or look too good. I probably could have done it better, but I think I could have gotten a much smoother pro look by using just the epoxy and paint.

Thanks Guys. I ended up Using west systems 105-a epoxy and glass tape. Just to make sure nothing came apart or leaked!

That's a good way to handle it.

Night cap.... You could have feathered it in( like you would with bondo) with resin mixed with airocell thickener.

Yeah, I should have. I wonder if it is too late with the several coats of enamel I have on there now.
