Alowood a cheaper alternative to exotics

All,
One of my woodworking mag did an article on the stuff and it a dyed all the way through and stabilized to where there is 30%less movement than most exotics.
It can be dyed to look exactly like any exotic but it is cheaper, lower wear and tear on tools, knot free and stable. What they start with is Radiata Pine or Ponderosa Pine.
They say it is for indoor only but looking to make an outdoor version. I think for all we do the indoor will work great.
