Window Installation

Well, I feel really stupid, but even after reading the two threads on window installation I still can't figure out how to install them. I understand how the screws go through the clamp ring into the "race" or whatever that channel is around the window. But I can't figure out how the window is held fast to the camper. Are there any pictures available? Does anyone have a shot of their installed window and/or the clamp ring? I guess with these things I'm a visual learner. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Good morning,

The window is set in the opening from the outside.
The ring is set in the opening on the inside.
The screws serve to pull the two halves together and thus "clamp" the widow tight against the side of the trailer.

G... they're 14x24 windows I got from Grant at Lil Bear. Very nice windows! I can't wait to get them in. I'll post pics asap.

...just don't forget to seal the outside or you will get REAL wet ...if you use the clamp ring, putty tape is probably best for sealing...

Unless it fell off in shipping, my Radius-corner Windows come with a closed-cell foam gasket already attached to the window frame/flange ... no extra sealant required (unless ya did a little "oopppsss" with the sabre-saw while cutting out the openings ... ... ...!)

I used putty tape when installing my windows. I put the putty tape on the underside of the window flange then I secured the flange to my trailer walls with screws every 6" or so. On the inside I used silicone caulk to fill in the gaps around the windows.

No leaks so far. Been through some pretty good down pours and also power washed the trailer 3 times... water tight so far.

If your windows have a rigid flange... go with the putty tape. I bought mine at an RV shop.
